About Susanne
Susanne Apgar
Susanne Apgar’s artistic journey began with a childhood surrealist coffee-table book—fur-lined teacups, long-legged elephants, and exposed inner worlds that ignited an obsession and set her path.
Born in New Jersey and raised in Montreal, she earned a BA in Psychology before studying Illustration and Design at Dawson College and Fine Arts at Concordia University, where she was deeply influenced by the West Coast’s Pop-Surreal movement.
Working primarily in oils, she now divides her time between gallery exhibitions across Canada, the U.S. and Australia, on-set scenic painting for television and film and teaching. She currently works out of Toronto and Naples Florida.
